Extension relaunches STEM Camp in Grundy

With an aim to help keep kids learning and engaged this summer while growing skills for the future University of Illinois Extension is sponsoring Grundy County's STEM Camp 2021.

The two week four session camp will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays—June 29, July 1, July 6 and July 8—from 1-3 p.m.

"We are so excited to be back and offer our annual Summer STEM Camp in 2021 at a time when everyone is itching to go outside," said Brooke Baker-Katcher, 4-H program coordinator, "Youth will participate in a variety of fun STEM activities to learn and have fun, From 'gross-ology,' to soil samples, and architecture, youth can choose the activities that interest them."

Each year Grundy County Extension seeks to broaden career awareness and teach primary principles of STEM in unconventional classrooms and outdoor settings. After a year of remote instruction and digital lectures, hands-on learning has only become more vital. STEM Camp sessions will be open to all youth in the area ages 8 -12.

Each session can be registered for individually, with a maximum attendance being 30 students per session. Each Session has a $5 registration fee.
