Floyd A. Heckler

BRAIDWOOD—Floyd A. Heckler, 76, of Braidwood, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.  
Born Dec. 5, 1941 in Paris, IL, he was a son of Floyd Wayne and Daisy LaBelle (nee Stiner) Heckler. Floyd enjoyed reading his bible and talking to others about the bible and he also enjoyed target shooting. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1963-1966 and was a member of the Christian Life Assembly in Diamond.  
Surviving are his wife, Gloria (nee Rosenbower, whom he married July 10, 1966 in Marshall, IL; one son, Sherman (Erica) Heckler, of Braidwood; one daughter, Angelia Heckler, of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Mandi (Michael) Neubauer and Andrew Heckler; one great-grandchild, Landon Neubauer and one sister, Elizabeth Helgedick, of Indianapolis, IN.  
Preceding him in death were his parents and step-brother, Wayne (Hazel) Heckler.  
Memorial visitation was held at the Christian Life Assembly of God in Diamond on Monday, May 14, 2018.
A committal service with full military honors was held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at  the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
