Holiday cheer in the WHS halls

PAJAMA FUN - WHS students and teachers got into the holiday spirit last week by wearing PJ’s to school. Having fun in their nightwear are (from left) teacher Angie Antos, Aubin Shields, Remi Thompson and Rylee Lehnert.

Christmas pajamas, ugly sweaters, the Grinch and snow. So much cheer. A warm cup of hot chocolate.

Wilmington High School teachers and staff do a superb job when it comes to Christmas cheer.

The week before finals students participated in multiple dress up days, p.j day being a personal favorite for many. Along with wearing your pajamas to school on Monday, Tuesday was Winter Wonderland and teachers wore fun wigs along with white. Wednesday was ugly sweaters and Thursday was the Grinch. Friday was all out Christmas spirit.

Dress up days were only one thing that brought Holiday cheer.

Walking into school, students where greeted by one the main symbols of Christmas spirit, a tree.

For teachers, members of Student Council prepared hot chocolate boards. The boards consisted of varying types of hot chocolate (like salted caramel, yum!). Along with hot chocolate the boards had pretzels, cookies, marshmallows, candy canes and more.

The perfect ending for a festive week, snow. As students gear into study mode for finals, snow covers the ground and falls so gracefully down. So much cheer, so many smiles and even more happy for a break to relax with family and friends.

Winter break begins today through Jan. 9 which will be a teacher institute day. Classes resume Jan. 10.

Until then, have a Merry Christmas.
