Joseph K. Jasnosz

COAL CITY— Joseph K. Jasnosz, 76, of Coal City, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021.
He was born on Aug. 18, 1945 in Chicago to Joseph A. and Mary A. (nee Zaveski) Jasnosz. He grew up in the Cicero area. After high school, Joe attended the University of Illinois in Champaign. He went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army as a Medical Equipment Repairman during the Vietnam Era. After he was honorably discharged, Joe married Sandra Zidlicky on Sept. 27, 1969 in Cicero. Together, they raised their family of two children. He went on to earn his Electrical Engineering degree at the University of Illinois Circle Campus and worked for Commonwealth Edison until the age of 50 when he retired. He later became a private contractor and retired from that at age 68.
Joe was a wonderful Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Uncle. He was his family's dedicated fishing partner. He enjoyed taking cruises with his wife, Sandee. Joe belonged to the “Upside Down Plate Club”.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandee; his children, Joseph M. (Donna) Jasnosz of Coal City and Janice (James) Dabulskis of Morris; his grandchildren, Jacob Jasnosz, Justin Dabulskis, Tabitha Dabulskis and Amanda (Branden) Griffitts; his great grandaughter, Ailey Griffitts; his sister, Theresa (Frank) Dziedzic of Florida and many nieces, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Jasnosz.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A Memorial Mass will be held privately at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church.
Private inurnment with full military honors will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
