JV Warriors rout Pontiac

The 7th grade Warriors boys basketball team got a big win over Pontiac Monday night by a score of 34-20.
Coal City came out of the game with a tenacious defense, holding Pontiac to zero points in the first quarter.
Then, the Warriors took a half-time lead of 18-10 into the locker room with a halfcourt buzzer beater from Hayden Kennell.
Kennell finished the game with 11 points while Caiden Tourigney did a great job of attacking the hoop to finish with 10 points. Also scoring for Coal City were Jaxon Duke who contributed 4 points and Wyatt Homerding who had 3 points as he went 3-of-4 from the free throw line.
Colten Lynn, Tyce Farrell, and AJ Gagliardo each had 2 points.
The Warriors are 5-1 on the season as they open up conference play last night at Wilmington.
