Lois Bergman

FLORIDA—Lois Darlene Bergman, 91, of Moore Haven, FL, passed away July 27, 2026 in Hope Hospice Care.
She was born Sept. 18, 1934 in Ritchie, IL to Lester and Olive Armstrong. She had been a resident of Moore Haven for about 20 years.
Lois graduated from Wilmington High School in 1952. She married LeRoy Bergman in Symerton, IL on Dec. 27, 1952. Together they raised four children: LuAnn Cole, Terri Jones, Jill Hackl, and Daniel Bergman. Lois played a big part in her community in Braidwood. She worked at Braidwood City Hall as Deputy City Clerk and later for many years as a secretary of the Reed-Custer High School, until she retired.
She loved her family and being with friends and enjoyed traveling in their camper with her husband, LeRoy. They both loved the outdoors, fishing, and entertaining friends and family. Eventually LeRoy and Lois moved from Braidwood to Florida and settled down in Moore Haven, where they enjoyed their retirement doing what they both loved to do, fishing and entertaining friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Jill Hackl (Dennis); her son, Daniel Bergman (Sylvia); four grandchildren: Lee (Lisa), Darren, Kelly, and Kaitlyn; three great-grandchildren: Jenna, Tyler and Jordynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Olive; her husband, LeRoy; her two sisters, Eleanor and Ramona and her brother, Richard and two daughters, LuAnn Cole and Terri Jones.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
