Robert E. Lemke

WASHINGTON—Robert E. Lemke, 89, of Bellingham, WA, passed away Oct. 20, 2018 in Bellingham where he was a resident for 15 years.
He was born June 1, 1929 to Earl and Marion Lemke. Robert worked at the Army Ammunition Plant, was a WWII Marine, a member of the VFW and was a Christian.
Robert loved life and lived quite a few lifetimes in his 89 years.  He loved his family with all his heart and strength and was forever there for his children. He loved being the focus of everyone's attention. Asking for free donuts was one of his claim to fame attributes. Robert loved his wife of 66 years, Betty, beyond ordinary measures. He was beside her and his well loved Yorkie, Clyde until the day of his death. His body could no longer continue on, but the family knows their father is dancing in Heaven with angels and having an awesome time.
Robert is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Stephanie (James) Bell; son, David (Donna) Lemke; and daughter, Susan (John) Long; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Robert L. Lemke and daughter, Laurie Lynn Lemke.
A special military private ceremony will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
