Theodore Baburek

MORRIS—Theodore "Ted" Baburek, 63, of Morris, passed away May 8, 2022.
Born Oct. 7, 1958 in Blue Island, IL, Theodore Paul, known by many as Ted or Teddy, was a son of Theodore Joseph Baburek Sr. and MaryJean Ahern-Bright. He grew up in Illinois and California, calling home Oak Lawn, IL; Stockton, CA; Burbank, IL; Hayward, CA; Hometown, IL and Chicago Ridge, and graduated from Oak Lawn High School with the class of 1976.
“Ted the Roofer” worked in the construction trades, and owned and operated ERS – Emergency Roof Service. When he was not working his hobbies included camping, fishing, cooking, playing slots and enjoying a cold beer. He took pleasure in carpentry, collecting coins and antiques and caring for his dogs “Bear” and “Tipper.” Ted loved nature and the outdoors; was passionate in learning about God, science and the universe, and studied ancient cultures. Above all, family was important to Ted and he cherished time spent with his daughters, grandchildren, family and friends.
Survivors include his father, Theodore Baburek Sr.; four children: Elizabeth (Philip) Raymond, of Crestwood; Nikki (Patrick) Lonon, of Friendship, TN and Christian Holsker and Brianna Holsker, both of Rockford; seven grandchildren: Angelo Joseph Raymond, Lina Jean Raymond, Gemma Rose Raymond, Gino Raymond, Summer Ann Baker, Patricia Chambliss, and Charles Joseph Chambliss II; two sisters, Terri (Robert) Pearce, of Homer Glen and Sharon Cirullo, of Orland Park, IL; step-siblings: Jeff (Nida) Bechere, John (Vickie) Pimentel, Jay (Marchelle) Pimentel and Janeen Donnelly; nieces and nephews: Nicole Pearce (Steve) Mullins, Bobby Pearce, Ryan (Christina) Pearce, Danielle Pearce, Michael Pearce, Rachel Cirullo, Daniel Cirullo, Nicholas Cirullo, Jessica Baburek, Brandon Baburek and Timothy Valloni, and numerous cousins, as well as special friends: Tony Milton, Ted Henry, Jack Brummerstedt, Dave Lilly and Jim Poole.
Ted was preceded in death by his son, Theodore Joseph Baburek; brother, Brian Baburek; mother, MaryJean Ahern-Bright; step-father, Lewis Fred Bright and step-mother, Joan Baburek.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Reeves Funeral Home in Morris. Rev. Dr. Roy Backus officiated.
